Hark a Lark!
A father and son spent a day in the park
They were walking around and stumbled on a lark
His wings were a broken and his feet were a bruised
Can we keep him dad, his young son had enthused
The father agreed seeing that it was hurt
A recovery fast he would try to insert
He gave three meals a day, most of beetles and worms
And as for his mother, oh he gave her the squirms
But the lark did get better, oh yes indeed
But more weeks of help is what the lark did need
His wings, they had healed; his feet, they were clean
A speedy recovery is what had been seen
The time had now come for the lark to move on
It flew out the window, and then it was gone
But gone it was not, to the window it came
Every morning and night, to see its old flame
And the boy did grow up, and the lark did come still
Every morning and night and sat on windowsill
The lark sought to repay him for all he had done
By coming to visit and having some fun
The years they went on, and the lark did come back
But then on one morning, twas the lark the boy lacked
It had not returned, the lark had disappeared
And never came back, and the boy never cheered
The boy, now a grown up, a son he did receive
Went to walk in the park on Midsummer’s Eve
And can you guess what he had found in the park?
You guessed it right! The boy found his lark.
