A Girl with a Broken Heart
No one understands when you have a broken heart
You try to show them, but they act as if they do not notice
They do though, they see it, yeah they do
But they stomp on your heart, and leave footprints as they go
I’m not talking about physical problems or relationship
But mental problems, problems that you have within yourself
Your family, your parents
I write this poem to talk about a young girl with a broken heart
Ignored by her parents
Ignored when they just doesn’t feel like hearing her voice anymore
Whether it’s about relevant or irreverent things
She does great in school, but only gets a “good job”
She worked hard all her life, but never got a report card posted on the fridge
When she doesn’t do anything at home they call her lazy and notice
But she always have to tell them he good she does
So you can see how that can make a person feel unloved and unwanted
They wonder why she has an attitude, but a broken heart can cause that
When people steps on your heart, it hurts, it leaves footprints
So always remember the girl with the broken heart
For she walks and acts as if nothing is wrong, but really her world is falling apart
When she is just sitting there staring into the light, people laugh
They think something is wrong with her
But really she is thinking about what she can do to please her parents
Nothing my child, nothing you can do, for they will realize on day
Just hope and pray my dear, that it doesn’t be too late, but it will be
By the time you recognize, her heart will be ashes, but half will be healing
And the other half will be black from the footprints her parents left
But someday, somehow, someone
Will come along and clean the footprints off her heart
Even though her heart will still be broken
Both sides will be healed
So always remember the girl with the broken heart
