Can't I for once do something right?
I want to be able to smile
And also be able to fight
For something I know to be real
But now look what I've gone and done
I upset you once more and again
For now I guess I will run
Before I hurt anyone else

I wrote this piece right after I came out to my mom, who said it's just a phase, and everything would be okay and then she yelled at me when I tried to tell her she was wrong. Well, this is also a sort of tribute to Transgender Awareness Week (15-22 november, 2013), since I know a few trans* and I know how hard it can be. This is to all you LGBTQIA, and to everyone else.
