As I simmer onto the shore, the wind caresses the waves serenely and slowly. Just like sugar is sweet to my tongue, the beach’s sand is sweet to my fingers and toes. I allow myself to be swallowed by the enormous waves thus inadvertently getting saltwater in my mouth. I breathe in the misty, unforgettable scent of the ocean. The water is tenderly warm and a glorious sunset has begun to settle on the horizon. Perfect beach weather. Like a hammock, the slight waves sway me back and forth on the shore. Seagulls perform for me, their dives punctuated by songs. The ocean is the sky’s canvas-the sunset illuminates the water with hues of purple, pink and orange. Here is one of the most phenomenal aspects of nature and I have a front-row seat to it. .This is my home, my serenity, my refuge. The beach is as free as can be; doesn’t even cost a penny to get in. It’s also as loyal as can be; it’s always here night and day and through both splendid weather and stormy weather. I feel more at home at the beach than any place else. The waves are the beach’s soothing melody, calling me to take refuge in its soothing waters. I am the serenity, the spirit, the soul of the ocean.
