Sharp ridged waves hitting the front of the ship
There’s a sea length distance between us growing shorter and shorter
Soon to crash and burn
The rusty old ship trudges on
Slicing into the screaming stormy sea
Yelling commands no one can hear
As if it were a ghost ship with no ears
The ship rocks and sways as the waves fight back
Swaying as the wind watches the sail and you turn the wheel
Avoiding sharp edged rocks as we go
Soon to crash into the mysterious unknown
Pitch black, can’t see
Dark as night, bright as day
The ship keeps moving onward dawn to dusk
Reaching our final destination
Without them knowing we’re here
The smooth sea where they await
Is turning bumpy as we approach
We bring the rough stormy waves with us
They don’t see us
They don’t hear us
I fear they sense us though
Different directions their ship starts to blow fire
You can hear the cannons from miles away
Which warns the family daddy might not be coming home today
The rusty old ships crash and intertwine together like a puzzle
Sinking to the bottom of the evil black sea
The captain is going down
The sailors are praying, screaming, and cussing some too.
Throwing out last words
Before they’re dragged down by fierce water dwellers
The ship lays in pieces all broken and tattered
The sailors will be going home and that all that matters
The ship that set fire first went down today
The journey is over and they can parade the sea home
Where their families are waiting
Longing in their presence

This piece was inspired by a contemporary piece of music we had listened to in class.
