My mind was on fire
With ideas for a story.
I could make it anything,
Something new and unsung.
With ideas for a story
I set out to write
Something new and unsung
Of battles and journeys and fun.
I set out to write,
With ink flowing on paper,
Of battles and journeys and fun
With characters young and far flung.
With ink flowing on paper
My story began to take form.
With characters young and far flung
Being born, growing and going.
My story began to take form.
I forged words on the anvil of thought.
Being born, growing and going,
The story wouldn’t stop.
I forged words. On the anvil of thought
I could make it anything.
The story wouldn’t stop,
My mind was on fire

The author's comments:
I have a mind of ideas. When I write a poem I works in the abstract, taking an idea and making it something the reader can experience. My inspiration comes from a mixture of experience and observation, the two blending together to give me an emotional as well as physical base from which to craft my writing. Currently I'm in high school, fighting through exams and papers like teens all over, but dreaming of a time when the only papers I have to submit are those I am trying to share with the world.
