The Human Desire
Innocence of a child is something that is greatly sought after,
The care-free spirit that makes a child full of laughter.
The look of purity upon the young's face,
As if not a single piece of their puzzle is out of place.
Everything in their life is meant to bring them joy,
Ever present for them is a toy used as a decoy.
While they are blessed with this incredible treasure,
They do not yet realize its value and measure.
All a child desires at such a young age,
Is to grow up and be let out of its guarded cage.
Little do they know of what the future holds,
Many hard times and devastation shall unfold.
The gem of innocence and guiltlessness the child has acquired,
Is a treasure that at one point or another every adult has desired.
As their protected cage becomes less constrained,
Many of their insightful questions will be left unexplained.
They will soon realize that what they truly aspire is what they once had,
A life of no worries, no pressures, nothing to ever make them sad.
However, no matter how much they wish they could turn back time,
This life they are living is a mountain they are forced to climb.
No matter how much one prays for their life before,
The fact is that the human race just simply always wants more.
