Destruction in Disguise

Those who care enough cause distress, controversy is spurred -
Will technology of the future save us,
or will it sit back and watch the world burn?
New medicines and luxurious inventions,
all so helpful at first glance,
but every person has their own contention.
Minds disagree and opinions clash,
are the benefits permanent,
or will they disappear in a flash?
Technology could help us to some extent,
but take it too far,
and our world will be spent.
