Jaap Quesryd
Can you tell from the way she smiles her world is over?
You burnt her laugh as soon as she showed comfort,
Yet you say she is to blame.
You send messengers as if it would make a difference,
As if you could change the way she thinks of you.
Nevermore will she look into your eyes without pain.
You made her this way.
You made her trust you and call you a friend.
Yet you never seemed to care.
Did you ever?
Or are you just addicted to making her cry?
Do you enjoy watching her die?
Yes.
She expected too much, did she not?
The truth, some honesty, care, maybe love.
Indeed, stupid little girl.
She knew nothing of the world.
She knew nothing of herself.
She will never trust you again.
And still, you do not care.
You will come down the stairs with a wrong idea in the middle of your head.
Saying she is only sad because she misses you,
Because she has lost a friend.
But, for once, the truth will dye your eyes dark:
For her pain is not triggered by the absence of your friendship,
But by the presence of your lie.
