March for Gun Control
On a cold day,
thousands of demonstrators rallied
to demand tougher gun control laws.
"This has to change," said some.
Fewer dead Americans.
Fewer dead children.
"People in schools should be armed," said others.
This time we will not step back.
This time we will step forward.
Many marchers
carried black-and-while placards
bearing the names
of the victims of gun violence.
This is about gun responsibility.
This is about gun safety.
Only an outraged public
can end
the gun violence.
This is a starting point.
This is not an ending point.
When we stand together,
we stand a chance.
