Pretty girl in vain
All the memories of yesterday
Come running back and tear away
The torn soul of a girl in vain
Will anyone ever understand her pain?
She kept quiet and did not say
A word about how she survived the day
People spoke and children whispered
Making her thoughts all dispersed
She cried and wept all day
With no one beside to carry her along
She saw how the world really was
And this just might have been the cause
For all the pain and sleepless nights
Which she endured without any light
Oh, she was a pretty girl in pain
Will anyone ever understand her pain?
