A little girl toddled around my house.

Ribbons in her hair

A pink bracelet around her wrist

I love her.

The destroyer of legos

The dresser of dolls

The maker of smiles

The princess in the castle

The hand I held in the parking lot.

Now, a woman strolls through my home.

A clip in her hair

A charm bracelet around her wrist

The model of fashion

The buyer of shoes

The bearer of a diamond ring,

The hand I will lead down the aisle.

Into her life she will plunge,

But some things will still stay the same,

I love her.

I am her father,

The one she looks up to.

And she, the apple of my eye
