The Girl
Happiness is like a disease
a good disease.
But there was this one girl
who was immune.
I tried to smile at her
but no smile back.
I tried to make her laugh
but no giggle.
I tried to make her happy
but all I received was sadness.
One day I decided to ask the question that I told myself I never would ask
'Why are you never happy?'
This little girl replied with an answer I didn't expect
'How am I supposed to enjoy life when its music never brings me to my feet?'
I thought about this
then I answered her question,
'Then change the music'.
I looked into her eyes,
and I received a facial expression I haven't seen on her.
She smiled.
She laughed.
And I received happiness.
