The Broken Princess
She woke; her pink curls
A beautiful mess. The fog
surrounded not only the castle,
but her brain. She wiped her swollen eyes, what she’d done wasn’t smart.
She’d fallen deeply,
but she couldn’t stop the feeling in her heart.
The dull ache was in her heart.
She was in too deep
to forget the beautiful prince. The smart
man, hidden himself from her, from her in his castle;
bathed in fog,
just hers was dipping into a sky that was pink.
She ran her fingers through her pink
curls. She looked into the window and wished the fog
would disappear. Wishing her view from the castle
would change somehow, how unsmart.
Her fortress was too deep
into the clouds, just like her heart.
She turned away from the window, her heart
was blue. It would be blue as long as she was this deeply
in love with this smart
Prince. She wished somewhere in the world, she was hidden away with him in a castle,
nestled into the fog,
nestled into a sky of pink.
Her heart was pink,
pink at the thought, the fog
was taking over her castle,
as well as her heart. Loving this Prince wasn’t smart,
she knew this, deep
in her heart.
The ache in her heart
was sharp. Madly, Deeply
in love with a Prince who was no good, who was too smart.
He was safely hidden away in the castle,
covered in fog,
dipped a sky of pink
