Winter
As a child
I remember looking out the window
On a cold winter’s night
The crisp cold air that flows through the wind
As it gets colder
The snow that glistens under the soft sun
As it gets colder
Seems as though there isn’t a care in the world
Seems almost silent, dead, everything has stopped
The snow looks so inviting
Like a pillow, a mother’s hug, or fresh baked cookies
But when the contact is actually maintained
It’s a harsh thing as it gets colder, more windy, and quiet
Yet, I still adore it
