Crowded Alone
Friends you know,
People you don’t.
People you talk to everyday,
And others, once a week.
Always crowding you
Hardships
Misunderstandingness
Sinking into nothingness
You say something,
No one hears.
You’re not important,
But, cared about.
Used
Hurt
Depressed
But crowded
Crowded by those who think they know you,
But, really, they don’t.
Crowded by those who think they understand
But they don’t
No one understands
No one cares.
Only two people:
One immortal and the other sane
They can’t protect you from the others,
But they can guide you.
Guide you to understand what others take for granted:
Life
Love
Family
Happiness
Money
Homes without holes in the roof
Vehicles
And the list goes on.
Crowded by people different from you.
You accept their differences,
Do they yours?
“You’re a kicker!” says a Goth
“You’re a Goth!” says a prep
“You’re a prep!” says a jock
“You’re a jock!” says a kicker
You’re different
You don’t fit in.
S no one in the crowd understands
No one takes the time to understand
Bu they think they know
How can you know without understanding?
You’re crowded alone.
