Winter, Spring’s Here
The sun is shining, the air is thin.
It’s too cold to play in only my underwear.
It snowed last night, I watched.
The rain stopped and now there are icy spots.
Last week was the beginning of spring,
But winter’s being mean,
It just won’t leave.
Spring is the time for flowers to bloom.
It’s time for me to clean out my room.
Spring is a new start, spring is a change.
We bar-b-que and we buy springy things.
Inside and out, spring gives us choices.
“Winter,” I asked “could you leave us now please?”
“You’re welcome to come back , but it’s Springs turn to shine.”
Now hit the road Jack, it’s about that time.
