&quot; What is the point of being alive if you don&#039;t at least try to do something remarkable?&quot; <br /> - John Green

Far off in the distance
There’s a land of green and gold
A place where you are healthy
A place you don’t grow old

I wonder if you’re there now
A crown upon your hair
I wonder if you’re smiling
As you look down on us, stuck here

I know that you are grateful
Your family loved you so
I’m guessing you are happy
Actually, that I know

I’m sure you’re feeling fine now
And I trust you are okay
Never in our minds will we
Forget this awful day

And now the world is your looking glass
A memory of where you were
I don’t know why these things happen
But that you’re missed, I am sure

And as you stand and smile
With your face into the sun
I wonder if you realize
How much it’s possible to love someone

The author's comments:
Almost everyone has been through the unfortunate experience of losing a loved one in their life. This poem recognizes the sadness of that, but also acknowledges the hope and wish that they're in a better place now. It also remind us that, no matter what happens to a loved one, we will always love them and they will always remain in our heart.
