Ever since I entered the realm of reality, I have lived in the same home. I have driven around town on the same streets for eighteen years now, watching the sun set and rise on the same beach. My mom used to Vacation in Daytona Beach, not knowing that she would live here when she was older. My dad lived sporadically around Europe throughout his life. My grandparents moved here when my mom was in sixth grade so they have been here throughout my entire childhood. Growing up in the same town as them, I have the most amazing fond memories that will never leave me. I could not be more thankful that they live right by me and I hope one day I can live by my grandchildren. I am very grateful that somehow, somewhere, I ended up here.
While many kids near graduation cannot wait to get out of this boring town with nothing to do, I wish to live here when I am older. One of the things that make me fall in love with Ormond is that there really is nothing to do and you have to make your own fun. It is lively during the day but mostly quiet at nighttime. My roots are strong and structured here in Ormond Beach and I hope that as I grow older, they too do not grow in different directions.
