Time is a solid and structurally sound,
No moment that passes may come back around,
But Time is a liquid and it ebbs and it flows,
Astonished are we at how fast that it goes.
These theories and thoughts with logic abound,
There is, however, a flaw I have found;
Time is structured, it’s solidity shows
Upon first fleeting glance seems so,
But further inspection of Time and its rules
Makes solidity seem the path for fools.
But does time not both speed and slow,
Like trickled stream or river’s flow?
Liquid Time seems much more real
When life you live and Time you feel.
But felt as a friend and not as a lover,
For Time can be fickle and leave for another.
But when Time can stand the test of Time
And lover’s quarrel is left behind
And all the petty jealousy
Is lost and left from you and me
And all the worthless hatred thoughts
Dissolve away and then are not
We free from bonds of feeling debt,
A gift from Time we’ve yet to get?
As if that Time didus toowe
A compensation for our woe.
But time has never done to thee
What causes you to weep and grieve.
No, time bestows upon you gifts
That you may choose what life you lived.
If Time is wasted burned and lost,
Then fault yourself or not at all,
But Time is surely not to blame
For what fed thee to the flame.
But pride let go and ration see;
Time is not our enemy!
But gives us gifts and joy and life!
And knowing this, one could might
Compare their time to water not,
Nor stone or friend nor foe to be fought.
But after seeing what time will do,
I contend there’s one thing true:
That Time is nature’s love most pure
And my love for time will always endure.
