Nous nous reverrons un jour
The roads led together at one point,
Finding this place only led to disappoint
But this is where my life led me, if I turned now, I would fail
Although turning now seemed best, now that my body was frail
Step by step, I was led forward, with no help, I was rendered dependent
I fell to my knees heavily breathing while the pain rose
I couldn’t stop here, I forced my body and I arose
My blurry eyes soon focused on another soul
I no longer felt halved, I now felt whole
I smiled while she still frowned
A tear escaped her eye
She sobbed and let out ‘Bye’
I yelled out to her ‘NO’
Her frown dissipated and a smile grew in its place
She then spoke with such a melody of utter grace
“Nous Nous reverrons un jour!”
Right before my eyes she vanished into a bright light
I fell to my knees again, this time in complete fright
I fell forward so my face hit the ground
My lips began to quiver as I began to frown
“Ouais, ce serait bien!”
(Dedicated to the girl who keeps me going…)
