Grey Through Eyes/Through Grey Eyes
Some say blue, some say green
Some say somewhere in-between
But not I
I say gray
Just the same as any day
Gray like the sky
And the ocean so low
Gray like the moon
When the sun sets below
Gray like the face
Of a sullen old man
Gray like the plate
And the pot and the pan
Gray like the hairs
On a mother's old head
Gray like the sun
When you get out of bed
Gray like the walls
Of the gloomy old room
Gray like the storms
That just consume
-
Some say blue, some say green
Some say somewhere in between
But not I
I say gray
More unique than just a day
Gray and complicated
Infinite colors churning
Gray and incomparable
Expressing my yearning
Gray and silver
Smoldering piles
Gray and clear
Describing my miles
Gray and deep
Simple yet complex
Gray and icy
Lacking extraneous effects
Gray and simple
Used to be read
Gray and mine
“Beautiful” you said
