Madness
How come the sacrifice;
Of faith
Belongs to anything less
Than the virtue it takes
To break one own’s heart?
To ease another’s descent
Into madness?
How come it’s easier?
To drive oneself into madness
In order to feel
The desire to make someone else’s struggle
Worth getting through.
It’s not an accident
That we gain strength through pain,
It’s decided,
It’s natural,
It’s our unspoken duty.
