The Gift of Love
I’ve heard stories of a gift
 Unlike any other,
 Sad hearts it surely lifts
When given from sister to brother.

 I’ve seen it been given
 From husbands to wives,
From the heart it is driven
 As it changes lives.

 I’ve seen it wrapped up
 In the most expensive way,
 It resembles an overflowing cup
 That’s simply given away.

This gift has a special way
Of spreading from one to another,
It’s in the very words you say
When you speak kindly to your mother.

This gift does not cost much
It doesn’t cost much at all.
Jesus died on a tree for you and for me,
And that’s the greatest free gift of all!

If only we were thoughtful enough
To give this gift to everyone we meet,
We might see more people come to Christ
There’d be Christians all down the street.

 However,
This gift is quickly becoming rare
It’s disappearing as you can see.
So why not hurry and pass it along
Why not put it under the Christmas tree?
