Sisyphus's Rock
For countless ages I've been pushed uphill—
A futile effort; I, the rock will fall.
The way back down I'll roll, at Hades’ will.
This man shall push me; t'is the given gall
Because this king deceived a god; a ruse
He pulled by which he bypassed death. The fool
Like slaves does work; he moans and grunts. To muse,
Regret, and push the spiteful rock he will
Forever, up this hill of rancor; to no use.
This mountain ragged is, against my skin
It rubs, but I the job must. Maybe break the shin.
