Bloodlust
I need a long standing vacation
To lose this sense of sedation
You hear the thrumming in your chest
The drums of excitement, which I know best
A lust for life, the drug without a crash
As soon as you taste, the high is gone in a flash
Now the drums have stopped, with a melancholy pop
As you’re reborn in a dark new world
A world throbbing with a vermilion elixir of youth
Now, at last, the moment of truth…

Alive again, but with a new love for love
The night brings asylum, through dying stars above
Awakened by the sound of Time’s voices
Haunting daydreams remind you of your choices
Vibrant, ambrosial, liquid life thickens with each breath
Ruby life on your lips, eternal night without death…
