Slivers of Sunlight, Walls of Waves, Fading of Footprints
Waves slam into the shore washing away what could have been,
Footprints fade as the rushing water slips away with the memories of those before,
Shrubs blow with the wind creating a silent musical.
Slivers of sunlight seep through the inauspicious clouds like a drizzle of rain,
The clouds create a dark, hazy atmosphere with the chilling wind biting through me,
But the little rays of sunshine that are barely seen show me that it will always get better.
Loquacious seagulls soar overhead squawking loudly,
Wall after wall of gurgling water crashes into the shore leaving behind a roaring sound in my ears,
The whispers of the wind mix in with the roaring sounds creating a calming melody.
Are others marveling in the beauty of the ethereal beach as I am?
Why would someone litter at such a magical place?
Do others feel the calmness that fills the air as I do?
The salty beach air saturates my body soothing my mind,
The trepidation that lingers in the air furtively drops away as I slowly relax,
Surrounded by the ocean and my classmates, I feel free and infinite.
