Farewell
Exposed skin, what a sight to see.
A poorly drawn map above my knee.
Cuts like roads leading far away.
If only it was enough to keep the monsters at bay.
I have so much time to fill.
I think I will use it to kill
Anything and everything that eats away at me.
Lay it out, bare, for all to see.
No one will fix it, no, not enough time.
The only way out is to commit a crime.
Loud cries that no one will hear.
Please forgive me, love. I’m so sorry, dear.
I couldn’t take it anymore.
I finally lost the long war.
Tell mom and dad they’re not to be blamed.
It’s all on me. I’m the one who is maimed.
Of all the things I never said,
the biggest is, “I’m already dead.”
