Song of Stars
I danced the song of the stars
That stickly sweet summer night
By the pond and old oak tree
Dancing to move the world on
Daring to hope for beauty
I danced the song of the stars
Hoping for love to shine through
Searching for serenity
And my feet kissed the dry earth
While stars fell from their glory
I danced the song of the stars
I felt the earth turn slowly
Onto the next season’s joys
No music fills the silence
My feet alone the noise
I danced the song of the stars
Stumbling among the flames
Hardly grace and hardly poise
While fire did leap and singe
For life is lived to be destroyed
I danced the song of the stars
And I dreamed of nothing else
‘Til my feet gave one last kiss
And flew up to dance a song with the stars.
