Star Struck
It’s dark, but night; it’s dark and bright
I look up at the midnight sky
My mother looks at me and says, “Goodnight sweetheart don’t stay up okay”
I stare at her and nod, “I understand”, I say
She turns her back and leaves me in the field.
I look up at the twinkling stars,
They’re all so bright they reflect off my mother’s car,
I hear a crash,
I hear a boom,
I rush off to the forest woods.
I walk into a forest clearing
The tree barks are all searing,
An Alien prince steps out of his car,
His face falls at the sight of all the bubbling tar
“Are you alright,” I shout from afar
“I’m alright everything’s just charred,”
I look at him; I look at the stars,
And faint due to his godly charm.
