When I see you
Your visits are short
 as are your hugs
 Though they appear long
 it's never enough
 Our talk is so small
 but we listen and nod
 'Cause it's better to speak
 than not talk at all

 Because you have left
 things just aren't the same
 The thought of your absence
 brings me much pain
 It kills me to see
 someone else in your place
But if you had the choice
 you could have just stayed

 I cry when I know
 that something is over
 But my tears stay inside
 when something's not done
 I pray that your visits
 will continue to bless me
 And when you arrive
 I'll know that I've won

 And though we say 'bye'
 it's never the end
Because the face is still dry
despite the mood that I'm in
And when the day has closed
 my hope stays inside me
So I'll wait for the day
 when I see you again
