“Mother of Mine”
Oh, how I need you sometimes—
When my brother tells me to get out of his room
When the dark used to scare me
When the violent fights came out in the family
When the horrific movies scared me
When the hunger attacks my stomach
 When the everything!
 You help me with everything
You give it to me in two ways
One way as the mother and the other
 As a friend
Which I think is the best I can have
 In my life,
 From the day’s grace to
 The night’s fall
 You are always there
Since the day I first cried.
