We need friends like stitches
For an open wound,
We need friends like ammo
For an empty gun,
We need friends like socks
For your feet,
We need friends to provide comfort
In your life,
We need friends like a parachute
For a skydiver,
We need friends like bars
To keep prisoners in
Jail,
We need friends like words
In a book,
We need friends like film
For a movie,
We need friends like a seed
To make a tree
Grow,
We need friends like chairs
To sit on,
We need friends like oxygen
So we can live.
