Home Town Girl
I was walking the busy streets

Playing chill tunes with mellow beats

Until the beat of my heart

Ascended as if it were a volume chart

    My pace then stopped

    And my jaw almost dropped

This empress was jogging by the park

    A little before dark

It was the first time I had seen her

But I wanted to know her demeanor

I’ve been walking by that park everyday

Since that July, December and now May

Just hoping that I can try

To catch up to her if she ran by

That same park in my hometown

To redeem myself for not making a sound

At this girl who looked as sweet as vanilla swirls

Who didn’t try but just outdid all other girls
