Waiting for a Trolley
lonely dormont junction
 a quiet winter's night
 too cold to function
 i squeeze my jacket tight

i listen to the bracing breeze
 the rain is falling white
 naked frozen trees
 not a life in sight

 chimneys smoking black
 burning wood arousing the air
 stillness on the track
the steel and wood is bare

 the ball of fire sleeping
 the moon's belligerant stare
 the stars are faintly wheeping
with no one around to care
