Bloody Tracks and Wasted Years
You told me to pray
I couldn’t believe
You didn’t trust in yourself
Instead you would bleed
It isn’t worth it
To watch the red run down
Drip on the ground
Like angels tears
Bloody tracks
And wasted years
I told you’d I’d be there for you
Instead you pushed me away
Wouldn’t you be there for me?
Isn’t it better this way?
Us together, now and forever
I was always told
That’s what friends were for
I once saw a sad man
A depressed man
Not a bad man
Hang himself from a tree
Not even 18
My friend
Dead before me
Now don’t try to tell me
I don’t understand
Even if I haven’t felt it
I’ve been around others who have
I can see depression
Like drops of acid rain
But I can’t be your cloud
And ease away your pain
I’d take it upon myself
If only I could
To ease your fears
Realize your dreams
If only for you
My friend
I would
Drip onto the ground
Like angels tears
Bloody tracks
And wasted years
You once told me
That I’d impacted you
Now prove it to me
Tell me it was true
You bigger than that
I know
I believe in you
I’ve always know you
You told me to pray
I couldn’t believe
You didn’t trust in yourself
Instead you would bleed
It isn’t worth it
To watch the red run down
