I'm Building a City
I’m building a city
Up high out of blocks
One with words that are witty
And tall towered clocks
One with feelings of delight
And the power to woo
One with lights that shine bright
And lovely fountains too
I’m building a city
Up high out of blocks
One with paintings so pretty
And bright colored rocks
One with a high flying dove
And museums of awe
One with an aura of love
And inspires to draw
I’m building a city
Up high out of blocks
One with a kitty
And maybe a fox
One with people so kind
And cheer in the air
One with gloom undefined
And bursting with care
I’m building a city
Up high out of blocks
One with no watch committee
And no one needs locks
One with beautiful views
And no need to hide
One with nothing to lose
And people to confide
I’m building a city
Up high out of blocks
One with no pity
And no chicken pox
One with a slight slope
And the feeling of connection
One with full hope
And just a bit of perfection
