Sticky fingers and tangled hair struggling to tip the rocking chair
Smudges of spilt milk and grass-stains Alzheimer's and varicose veins
Bedtime stories with Mother Hubbard not enough room in the medicine cupboard
Hopscotch, jump-rope at recess becoming winded playing chess
Need more paper for Santa's letter? Why don't you and your teeth sleep together?
Santa Claus and a snowman named Frosty too many names ending with M.D.
Can I please cut up your meat?
Let me help you across the street?
Marshmallow clouds and a moon of cheese an aching back and knobby knees
The faroff days when we'll be grown-up times when weight-lifting is standing up
A time when true love is only something
material hearing snap, crackle, pop and you're not eating cereal
Tic-tac-toe and thumb-wars the pleasures of childhood
Old age, taking twice as long to look half
as good
Follow your dream, pursue it with haste life is too precious for one to waste
So seize every minute before our cardboard rocket doesn't fit us anymore.
