Mother Earth
With his head under the hood of a beat up old ford
He heard the noise that broke the trance
Unpreparedness at the jolt of attentionBroken from a constant focus

He heard the noise that broke the trance
Awakened from an eternal task never ending
 Broken from this constant focus
 Allowing for common sight

Awakened from an eternal task, never ending
Unsighted for a lightning break, unfaithful promise of tomorrow
 Allowing for a common sight
Tearing the sky apart molecule by atom, raindrop by thunder beam

Unsighted for a lightning break unfaithful promise of tomorrow
A hopeful, jagged, graceful, blinding, gentle, tickle
Tearing the sky apart molecule by atom raindrop by thunder beam
The ground opens up its’ arms for the quick tickle of mothers long fingers

A hopeful, jagged, graceful, blinding, gentle, motherly tickle
Budding and reaching a peeping baby bird waiting
The ground opens up its; arms for the quick tickle of mother’s long fingers
Feeding the motherly yearning for her baby children, stretching on

Budding and reaching a peeping baby bird waiting
The lightning’s gentle touch comes down, arriving occasionally
Feeding the motherly yearning for her baby children, stretching on
Reaching for as many of her own as possible

The lightning’s gentle touch comes down, arriving occasionally
Hiding from father avoiding the banishment and separation again
Reaching for as many of her own as possible before he arrives
He thunders his anger, unmerciful to his children

Hiding from father avoiding the banishment and separation
His disapproval and wrath mars the joyous reunion of mother and earth
He thunders his anger, unmerciful to his children
Together again for awhile, eventually dissipating only to return later on

His disapproval and wrath mars the joyous reunion of mother and earth
Always forget, think the gentle rumbling as slow and rhythmic as a soft chuckle
Together again for awhile, eventually dissipating only to return later on
Staying together for the discord they live

Always forget, think the gentle rumbling as slow and rhythmic as a soft chuckle
Like the man, watching the storm erupting on the horizon
Staying together for the discord they live
An angry but warning picture of disruption

Like the man, watching the storm erupting on the horizon
He chuckles to himself, thinking back on his year of volatility, thunder against light
An angry but warning picture of disruption
And he sets back, disturbance forgotten, only a problem to be fixed.
