You took that picture of us.
The one that makes my stomach ache
and twist.
The same one that makes me want to squeal
and pump my fist.
You took that picture of us.
You pressed the timer
and hurried to sit.
Your lips met my cheek
just as the flash lit.
You took that picture of us
right before you left
to go on your trip.
Now it comforts me
as I wait for time to slip.
You took that picture of us
and I know I'll always love it
and you
and all our memories
and the ones that will be new.
