Sleeping soundly, dreaming soft
The moon is hiding, the stars still linger
My eyes are closed, my mind takes off

Cradled up high, a lonely loft
Night’s lullaby, an angel singer
Sleeping soundly, dreaming soft

Embedded on a cloud of golden cloth
She floats above, twirling me around her finger
My eyes are closed my, my mind takes off

A shooting star is quickly lost
Her voice hums quietly, a wish bringer
Sleeping soundly, dreaming soft

She slips away into night’s distant thoughts
Blows a kiss, her lips a dream stinger
My eyes are closed, my mind takes off
The moon tucks away, nocturnal dreaming will soon stop
Nighttime’s doorway to the heavens, secured with one sleepy lock
Sleeping soundly, dreaming soft
My eyes are closed, my mind takes off

The author's comments:
I thought of this piece after a night that I didn't sleep very well. I thought, what would be the ideal sleep or dream? From there, I just developed a sort of fantasy sleeping/dreaming world that would be really mystical and sort of mysterious.
