I Thought
I thought we were friends,

 that we could tell each other anything.

 That you were someone I could trust with my secrets and thoughts;

 someone to listen to me.

 I thought sister meant something to you,

 because it meant so much to me.

 It isn’t just another word,

 It represents a special bond-

 one which I thought we had.

 I thought we were close.

 I thought I was good enough,

 almost as good as real flesh and blood.

 I thought you listened to me.

 I thought I could trust you.

 I guess I thought wrong.
