The Man in the Sun

The moon proclaims the light of the sun;
It mirrors its wonder from afar.
Look at it closely in the night sky–
Look at the face within.
A face too bright to conceive in the day–
Not the man in the moon
(that is the illusion);
The man in the sun.
Present in the day,
But watching us kindly in the night sky,
Reflected subtly from the surface of the moon.
