I like cool beats but cool beats don’t like me,
raise your hand if you know what I mean.
My shower head could tell you I most definitely can’t sing
but don't arrest me- reckless jamming is my thing.

I like calories but calories don’t like me,
raise your glass if you know what I mean.
I eat chocolate ice cream because it tastes so good
but my thighs wouldn’t stand the test of Hollywood.

I like chalk but chalk doesn’t like me,
raise your hand if you know what I mean.
Every time a masterpiece is finally complete
the rain laughs and steals it from underneath my feet.

I like popsicles but popsicles don’t like me,
remember your childhood if you know what I mean.
It looks so delicious but to your 4-year-old dismay,
it melts to the sidewalk for the ants to slurp away.

We’re all in this universe so let’s all get along,
Where is the harmony if this is a song?
When too things collide can’t they exist in amity?
If heaven and hell share this universe- so can we.

I like stargazing but stargazing doesn't like me,
point to the sky if you know what I mean.
I live in the glowing city so blinding and far from home,
haven't wished in months and I'm starting to feel alone.

I love you but you surely don’t love me,
raise your hand if you’re sick of what I try to be.
Millions of butterflies infest my heart and soul
but your rejection eats them like an infinite black hole.

I’m trying to make a point, does it make any sense?
This place we live in is not a matter of chance.
No relationship is perfect but change is a gift of grace,
let’s find the formula for a hand in hand human race.
