Never stopping
Never resting
The runner gazes towards the closing line
Faraway, it seems so close
Escaping his grasp from time to time
He runs his laps
Throughout his days
An endless task
To mend his ways
Never turning
Never fading
The runner runs for his own sake
Sin and pride are all to end
A soothing pause to his heartache
His final lap
Is now in sight
The runner runs despite his fright
Finally, he rests his breath
The never ending stench of death
When sunlight fades
And all is dark
He walks to the beat of his thumping heart
