I’m a little carbon molecule having an amazing journey,

Starting from a carbonate rock and into the air in a hurry.
Weather and erosion put me in the atmosphere in the form of CO2,
But that won’t stop me from staying up there for even a day or two!
I stay for a while but before I know it, I dissolve into the saltiest seawater! Swimming with the fish and diving with the dolphins couldn’t forget the sea otter. Enjoying my time with the animals and aquatic plants in the sea,
I forgot to tell you that’s where I’m headed to be!
Consumed by an aquatic plant in photosynthesis, I turn into plant matter,
But soon I was eaten by my old friend fish, and back into the air with no splatter. Back to my form as CO2, I enjoyed my time in the atmosphere,
Soon there was a twist again, but it was not that severe.
I left the air via photosynthesis, and this time landed in plants on land,
Being in a plant was really fun, until you get dragged and crammed.
A small old cow had taken me in and before I knew it I became animal matter. Through respiration the cow had freed me, and I was back in the air even faster! Being CO2 is very fun but being with my sea friends is even more,
I dissolved back to the seawater again and made sure to not go to the shore! Resisting the waves I bumped into a shark bringing out my galeophobia, Screaming and hollering my voice out loud till I got saved by a Rosalina!
Rosalina was an aquatic plant that gave me shelter before I became a dish,
But next I was about to meet another sea friend whom you know as old friend fish.
Old friend fish ate Rosalina, so I had to say my goodbyes,
And soon I knew that I had to say another as old friend fish let air bubbles arise.
The bubbles went higher and higher anf higher until they reached what I treat as home, A place where I am CO2 and in the atmosphere with some fluffs of white foam.
This has been a long journey to tell and I have now become tired,
So let me stop talking about my life and you can now be inspired.

In science class, we were prompted to explore the carbon cycle, and I decided to take a creative approach by imagining myself as a carbon molecule. This piece allowed me to follow the molecule on all its adventures while learning about the scientific process in a fun and imaginative way. Writing it helped me connect the abstract concept of the carbon cycle to a story I could visualize and enjoy!
