My Childhood
Oh- my sweet childhood
I miss the days
where I had such little to worry
Where all I had to focus on
Was my chores
And taking care
of my beloved brother
Oh, the sweet memories.
I will forever long for
Those sunny days
As I drive to school in the rain
A sense of nostalgia revives itself
Only to remind me that I’m alone now
It is just me driving the car
I still do all my chores
although I work full time now
Things are no longer the same
And I will spend forever missing the days
When I had such little to worry about
My only worries were the safety of my little brother
And my parents staying by my side
Feeding me and nurturing me with life
As I now drive my car and park at school
I close my eyes just for a moment
And when I hear the rain
Beating on the windows
I’m suddenly not alone in the car
I am a kid again
I am happy and safe
I think I’ll keep my eyes closed.

this piece relates a lot to how I feel about my younger years, and how I yearn to have those back. I think that many other people relate to this, especially teenagers and grown adults.
