Heaven's Gate
Heaven’s Gate
I saw the rickety gate leaning over, 
it was as old as the hills.
I saw the cross standing behind it,
beaming proudly as if it just won a medal.
I saw the Christmas tree green grass,
and the ashy gray gravel.
I saw the cotton candy blue sky,
as it called me closer.
I saw the gate to heaven.
I saw the light shining on that gate.
I saw my time to go.
I saw the gate opening.
I see my new life starting.
