A Perfected Curation
Two versions of myself exist. Intertwined
like the stripes of a candy cane, my
qualities coil and contort together
creating one entity:
me.
Though they mostly coalesce
peacefully, there is a stark contrast
between my stripes.
One stripe is coffee brown, 
which blankets me with a
soft, subtle demeanor
settled under a midnight sky.
Bright and brilliant, my
other stripe is the yellow
blaze of early sunlight that
blinds eyes leaving dark houses.
Together my stripes are sweet. A 
perfected curation of my creation.
Peeking through the holes
of my thick brown blanket, my
beams of sunlight are a rarity.
Seen only by the keen few who
know to look for them.
My glimpses of light can burn
an untrained eye, however
they sparkle off a metallic friendship.
Someone of rich gold and shiny silver 
is my perfect match. A highlighter to
my off white parchment and a gleaming
surface for my beams to bounce off.
unscathed.
