A rendition of
Two perfumes displayed in a shop
And sorry I could not buy both
And be one ambrosial person from bottom to top
And smelled down one until I was told to stop
I had been taking so much time like a sloth
Then took the other just as aromatic
And having perhaps the better scent
Because it was fresh and I’m a nature fanatic
And as I wore my perfume I felt more dramatic
I realized that the perfumes freshness was the same percent
And both that evening equally lay
In leaves no bad scents on me
Oh, I smell so good today
Yet knowing how more scents lead on to pay
I doubted if I should go back and try the other for free
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somwhere smells and scents later
Two perfumes displayed and I-
I took the one I’d get more compliments by
And that has made a change for the better

The main theme of this poem is that choices are impactful no matter what you choose. Perfume can distract the way you smell to others and how you smell throughout the day. It’s also about how you will make many choices in your life, and those choices can come with many different thoughts about what could have happened if you had chosen differently. Big choices come with massive amounts of self-doubt and confusion, as shown in this poem.
